JP Schools Employee Townhall
JP Schools is hosting an Employee Townhall Meeting at Boudreaux Elementary School, 950 Behrman Hwy in Terrytown from 6:00 PM-7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. The Superintendent will be taking questions from employees. We know one of the greatest concerns is working conditions (overworked, redundant paperwork, 30-page lesson plans, AIM Pathways, subbing, Paraeducators teaching classes). If you are able to attend, please wear your JFT shirt in solidarity with our Union. It’s the U and I in UNION that makes us STRONG.
General Membership Meetings
The JFT General Membership Meeting will be at Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60, 3515 N. Interstate 10 Service Road, West at 6PM on Thursday, October 27th. LFT President Larry Carter and JFT Counsel Larry Samuel will be in attendance. We will be nominating delegates for the 58th Annual LFT Convention held in Lafayette from November 19-21, 2022. Work Shouldn’t Hurt Workshop
LFT will be having a virtual workshop Saturday, October 29th from 9:30-11:00 A.M. on Zoom. The meeting is open to all members and we would like for you to attend. Click here to register.
November 8, 2022—Election Day
All employees are off Tuesday, November 8, 2022 for Election Day. JP Schools has several board members up for re-election as well as election. When voting, please consider the JFT endorsed candidates:
- District 1: Dr. Gerard Leblanc
- District 2: Ricky Johnson
- District 3: unopposed
- District 4: unopposed
- District 5: no endorsement
- District 6: Lauren Jewett and Eric Moore (dual endorsement)
- District 7: Jimmy Kytle and Ralph Brandt (dual endorsement)
- District 8: unopposed
- District 9: unopposed
