Over the last several weeks the Jefferson Federation of Teachers (JFT) Executive Board has been working to vet the candidates running for Jefferson Parish School Board. All candidates were asked to complete a survey and sit for an interview with the endorsement committee. Endorsed candidates were chosen based on their proven track record of supporting teachers and school employees. Political party was not a consideration, rather the committee chose candidates based on their shared values of supporting public education, public school educators and their students, as well as JFT.
We encourage all eligible members to vote on Tuesday, November 8th. Early voting is Oct. 25 through Nov. 1 (excluding Sunday). If you are not yet registered to vote, or you need to update your voting information, the deadline to register through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is October 18th.
